971 cricketers, including 713 Indians and 258 overseas cricketers, have entered the IPL auctions and will be up for grabs in the event that is scheduled to take place on December 19 in Kolkata. 215 capped stars, 754 uncapped youngsters and two cricketers from Associate Nations have also joined the party, and will be vying for the available 73 spots. 

The IPL Player Registration closed on November 30, and the teams will now have time till December 9 to submit the list of players that they want in the final auction list. Only the names submitted by the eight teams will be up for selection at the auctions. 

Among the players who have given their names, 19 have played for India before, while 634 are yet to turn out for the national team. Among then, 60 are uncapped but have played at least one IPL game in the past. Among the international players, 196 are capped, while 60 are yet to play for the respective countries. Two players are from Associate Nations. 

The auctions will be overseen by Hugh Edmeades once again, as 19 cricketers from Afghanistan, 55 from Australia, 6 from Bangladesh, 22 from England, one from Netherlands, 24 from New Zealand, 54 from South Africa, 39 cricketers from Sri Lanka, 1 from USA, 34 from West Indies and 3 players from Zimbabwe will go under the hammer in Kolkata.
