The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has sacked its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lutfullah Stanikzai, two years before his contract expires. In a letter issued by ACB president Farhan Yousefzai, it was mentioned that the decision was taken on grounds of “unsatisfactory performance”, “mismanagement”, and “misbehaviour with managers.” Now he has been asked to “handover the entire documents and equipment to the board till July 29, 2020.”
From the media head of the board, Stanikzai was promoted to the post of CEO last year after Asadullah Khan was sacked. Since then he was believed to be playing an instrumental role in the development of the game in Afghanistan. And perhaps that’s why this recent development has come as a major shocking call to many in the fraternity.
In a media statement, the ACB stated that the position of Executive Director of the ACB will be announced through open competition and a suitable candidate will be selected keeping in view the principles and policies of Human Resources (HR) of the Board.
Meanwhile, according to a report published in Sportstar, Inamullah Shirzad could replace Stanikzai as the new CEO of ACB.
