Preview

India continued their excellent streak in T20I cricket by notching up another win in Australia, their sixth in seven successive completed games in the country. With all at stake for the second game, the teams are hit by injury concerns. While Ravindra Jadeja is ruled out of the entire series, Aaron Finch is suffering from a hip injury and might miss this game at least.

Ashton Agar, who suffered an injury ahead of the first T20I, is unlikely to play either. Australia have called up Nathan Lyon as his replacement. Meanwhile, Cameron Green has been released from the squad to play the three-day tour game.

Team news and predicted XI

India will have a straight swap in for Jadeja with Yuzvendra Chahal who had a stunning show in the Canberra game. Chahal and Washington Sundar should continue being the spinners in the side. Meanwhile, India could also think of bringing in Mayank Agarwal to bolster the top-order after the show in the last game.

Australia will have Matthew Wade opening and possibly captaining if Finch is off. Wade was the vice-captain for the previous game and will step in if Finch is unavailable. Nathan Lyon could step in for Mitchell Swepson with Marcus Stoinis also a possibility to step in for the hosts.

Predicted XI

India

Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, T Natarajan, Jasprit Bumrah.

Australia

Aaron Finch, D’Arcy Short, Matthew Wade, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Moises Henriques, Sean Abbott, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa

Fantasy tips

  • Australia’s batsmen, Finch (if he plays) and Maxwell are certain picks for this game.
  • Moises Henriques was handy in Canberra on a slow pitch. Sydney is also likely to be slow and he could be a good all-round choice.
  • Josh Hazlewood with his bounce and movement has troubled India and is a good pick as captain.
  • Adam Zampa, Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar are pretty good picks.
  • Hardik Pandya is in good form and you might have to choose between him and Virat Kohli. While Kohli is a good pick, if you want to play in a grand league, Hardik is recommended.
