Cricket Australia has announced their playing XI for the fourth Test match, at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Usman Khawaja, who had last played a Test match on the 2019 Ashes tour of England, will replace Travis Head, who tested positive for Covid-19.

Josh Hazlewood has still not recovered from injury. The management does not want to rush Jhye Richardson as well, so Scott Boland retained his place after a marvellous debut Test.

'It's no secret that if Joshy Hazlewood was available then he was going to play. He's been just a brilliant bowler for us for a long period of time,' said Australian captain Pat Cummins. 'We gave Josh every chance we could, just felt like he couldn't bowl at full tilt yesterday. We're still hoping he'll be right for Hobart.'

The SCG pitch will be favourable for the batters. Australia have already retained the urn after winning the third Test match, in Melbourne, by an innings and 14 runs.

Australia XI: Marcus Harris, David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Usman Khawaja, Cam Green, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland.
