Australia will host India for the first T20I of the three-match series at Carrara Oval in Queensland, on Thursday, 7 September. India will need to win all three matches to win the multi-format series, and two matches to draw it. They currently trail Australia 4-6.
India will be boosted by the comeback of captain Harmanpreet Kaur. She is likely to bat at No. 4, and one of Jemimah Rodrigues and Harleen Deol will bat above her. Shikha Pandey, yet to play a match on this tour, is likely to spearhead the pace attack, along with Pooja Vastrakar and Arundhati Reddy.
Australia, meanwhile, will miss Rachael Haynes. The opening pair of Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney will be followed by Meg Lanning, Ashleigh Gardner and Ellyse Perry. Tahlia McGrath and Darcie Brown are likely to make their T20I debuts.
