Bayern Munich is reportedly looking to sell Sadio Mane in the upcoming summer transfer window after suspending and fining the player for striking his teammate, Leroy Sane. The incident took place after Bayern’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City last week. According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, Mane’s punishment has resulted in the biggest fine ever received by a Bayern player.

As reported by Get German Football News, Bayern Munich is now looking to offload the No.17, with Thomas Tuchel, the club's head coach, having "no plans" for Mane. The Bundesliga club views their £35.1 million deal with Liverpool as a "mistake," and Plettenberg was quoted as saying that the player is seen very critically internally.

Despite rumors of Mane’s possible return to Liverpool, the move is reportedly "not an option." Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager, has been building a new-look attack in Mane's absence, having signed Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo. The latter has replaced Roberto Firmino, while Mohamed Salah has signed a new long-term contract along with Diogo Jota, leaving little room for Mane in Klopp’s ranks.

Moreover, there are concerns over Mane’s longevity, with suggestions that he is now lacking the speed and thrust that made him such a key player at Anfield. Although Mane could return to the Premier League, he is highly unlikely to do so with Liverpool. The club has promising players such as Ben Doak, Kaide Gordon, Bobby Clark, Trent Kone-Doherty, and Lewis Koumas coming up.
