BBL 2020-21: Sydney Thunder vs Hobart Hurricanes Preview, Probable Playing XI, and Team News Image

Both Sydney and Hobart Hurricanes will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take lock horns with each other at the Manuka Oval on Monday. The Thunder are currently placed at the second spot in the table but have lost their last two matches. Bowling has appeared as an issue responsible for their recent dip in form. The bowlers have leaked a lot of runs in the last couple of matches and that is an area the Thunder need to improve heading into this encounter.

The Hurricanes, on the other hand, are coming into this match on the back of three consecutive losses. That has seen them slip down to the seventh spot in the table, so they have some catching up to do in the remaining games. Their major issue which has emerged out in the last couple of matches is their batting. The batters have failed to press on the accelerator and thus have registered scores of only 139/5 and 128/8 in their last two games. They will need to bat with more intent in case they want to bounce back with a win in this match.

Team News

Chris Green has recovered from his calf muscle injury. So he is expected to make it to the Sydney Thunder XI. Colin Ingram will be unavailable in this match for the Hurricanes. So Will Jacks is expected to come in.

The all-rounder has played a crucial role with both bat and ball for Sydney Thunder. Sams has 183 runs to his name so far, which includes two fifties, and he has also picked up 10 wickets at an excellent average of 19.90.

D’Arcy Short (Hobart Hurricanes)

He hasn’t quite had the season everyone expects from him but he has still been a valuable asset for the Hurricanes.
