Sean Abbott was adjudged as Player of the Match for his three wickets. Abbott also surpassed Ben Laughlin as the leading wicket-taker of the Big Bash League. Dan Christian also claimed 3-8 to help restrict Perth Scorchers for 147/8. Thomas Kelly top-scored for the Scorchers with 42, while Jonathan Wells made 32.
James Vince and Josh Philippe added 44 for the opening wicket for the Sixers. A triple strike from Rashid Khan in the middle overs put them in a spot of the bother, but Abbott smashed a 10-ball 19 to drive his team across the chase.
