Adelaide Strikers will take on Hobart Hurricanes in Eliminator of the Big Bash League 2021/22 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The Strikers won six games and lost eight to finish fourth in the league stage. They will head into this contest off an eight-wicket win over Sydney Sixers, where Matt Renshaw scored 50 in 31 balls, and Ian Cockbain got 71.

They will be boosted by the return of Travis Head and Alex Carey, who are likely to replace Harry Nielsen and Jake Weatherald in the playing XI. They will miss Rashid Khan due to his international commitments. However, Fawad Ahmed, who impressed everyone with a three-wicket haul in the last game, may be a decent replacement.

The Hurricanes, on the other hand, finished fifth, with seven wins and as many defeats. They lost their last game against Melbourne Stars by 106 runs. All their eight bowlers that day leaked over ten an over. Josh Kann is likely to be replaced by Scott Boland, while Riley Meredith and Thomas Rogers will also return to the side.Tim David and Matthew Wade will have a crucial role to play in the middle overs.
