Sydney Sixers beat Sydney Thunder by 30 runs in the rain-affected Match 20 of the BBL 2021/22 at Spotless Stadium, Sydney. The Sydney derby was reduced to 16 overs a side after rain interrupted the Sixers innings twice. They eventually piled 168/4, courtesy Daniel Hughes’ 26-ball 50 and Dan Christian’s unbeaten 17-ball 41, and then bowled out the Thunder for 142 in 15.1 overs.

Jason Sangha scored 30-ball 47 for the Thunder, but could not find enough support. Hayden Kerr was the pick of the Sixers bowlers, with 3-29, while Ben Dwarshuis, Sean Abbott and Lloyd Pope took two wickets each.
