Peter Siddle’s 5-23 and Matthew Short’s unbeaten 44-ball 72 helped Adelaide Strikers beat Hobart Hurricanes by seven wickets in Match 35 of the Big Bash League 2021/22, at the Adelaide Oval. The Strikers skittled the Hurricanes out for 126 in 19.5 overs and reached the target with 29 balls to spare.

D'Arcy Short top-scored for the Hurricanes with a run-a-ball 32 and Tim David made 18-ball 28, but the others could not even reach 20. Rashid Khan returned 2-26. Despite receiving little support, Matthew Short then took the game away from the Hurricanes to end their six-match losing streak. Sandeep Lamichhane was the pick of the Hurricanes bowler, with 2-22.

Match 36 of the BBL 2021/22, between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers, scheduled at the Carrara Oval, Queensland, was postponed after 12 Heat players tested positive for Covid-19.
