After what bowlers did on Day 1, the onus was on the Warwickshire batters to rise up and knock Lancashire out of the game. The top-order did exactly that as they walked away on 464/7. They lead by 386 runs. Will Rhodes remained unbeaten on 151, and he will resume the innings, along with Craig Miles, on Day 3.

In what was an infuriating day for Lancashire, four bowlers laboured for over 20 overs each, with Matthew Parkinson alone accounted for 30 overs. Parkinson, however, was the most productive, picking up three wickets, including Robert Yates (113).

The first wicket fall early in Dom Sibley, who got pinned leg-before by Tom Bailey on 57. Lancashire had to wait for around another 32 overs for the next strike.

In the meantime, Robert Yates completed his century, and added 110 runs with Will Rhodes for the second wicket. This was the fifth century of the season for Yates, who is clearly one of the most promising talents in the county circuit.

The score allowed Sam Hain to play freely, and he made 55 off 74 balls before getting bowled by Jack Blatherwick. Rhodes, meanwhile, kept batting and will start afresh on Day 3 on 151.

Brief Scores: Lancashire 78 (Wood 46*; Miles 5-28) trail by Warwickshire 120/0 (Rhodes 151*; Parkinson 3-71) by 386 runs.
