St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Jamaica Tallawahs

Jamaica Tallawahs 169/8 in 20 overs (Brooks 43; Fawad 2-14) beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots 147/8 in 20 overs (Thomas 34; Pretorius 3-25) by 22 runs. Player of the Match: Andre Russell

Jamaica Tallawahs snapped their three-match losing streak with a 22-run win against table toppers St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. They set up a target of 170 and restricted the opponents for 147/8.

Kirk McKenzie and Kennar Lewis got the Tallawahs off a brisk start, adding 37 in just over five overs. Lewis then holed out to Evin Lewis off Fawad Ahmed. An over later, McKenzie was beaten through the gate by Jon-Russ Jaggesar.

Shamarh Brooks (43 in 33 balls) and Rovman Powell added 54 for the third wicket. Powell went berserk and slammed 37 off just 19 balls, with the help of four sixes. Andre Russell’s 17-ball 28 then propelled the Tallawahs to 169.

The Patriots lost Evin Lewis in the second over. Chris Gayle failed again, scoring 12 in 10 balls before getting bowled by Chris Green, but Devon Thomas held the innings from one end. Joshua Da Silva joined him in the middle, the duo added 49, but they failed to accelerate, allowing the asking rate to shot up.

Thomas was undone by Veerasammy Permaul, and Da Silva got run out. The Patriots still needed 79 runs from the last six overs. The rest of the batters faltered under pressure, and they could only manage 147.

Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Saint Lucia Kings

Guyana Amazon Warriors 151/6 in 20 overs (King 77; Wahab 2-16) beat Saint Lucia Kings 134/6 in 20 overs (David 47; Motie 2-12) by 22 runs. Player of the Match: Brandon King

A fluent half-century from Brandon King helped Guyana Amazon Warriors register a 22-run victory over Guyana Amazon Warriors. The Kings were restricted to 134/6 in pursuit of 151/6.

After a string of failures, King finally notched his first half-century of the campaign, smashing 77 off 57 deliveries. As wickets kept falling from the other end, King carried on with his innings, striking regular boundaries. Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shoaib Malik and Shimron Hetmyer combined for just 2 runs in total.

The Lucia kings were let down by their top-order. Gudakesh Motie removed both Faf du Plessis and Samit Patel to reduce them to 43/3. Roston Chase (40) and Tim David (47) tried to revive the chase but they were not quick enough to propel the Kings close to the target.
