Chelsea defender Thiago Silva's frustration was on full display during his team's Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night. Silva was unable to play due to injury and had to watch the game from the stands.
The Brazilian's outburst came after a nasty challenge by Dortmund's Jude Bellingham on Chelsea full back Reece James. The challenge looked dangerous and could have easily caused an injury to James, who has already had his fair share of bad luck with injuries.
Silva was visibly angry at the challenge and could be heard shouting, "Son of a bi*ch, not my full back for the love of God, Red card!" The Chelsea defender's outburst is said to have been shared by many fans of the west London side who thought Bellingham should have been sent off for the foul.
The game was not without controversy, as some fans claimed that VAR had ruined the match after a penalty was given that many thought shouldn't have been. The penalty was retaken after Kai Havertz hit the post with his initial attempt.
Despite the controversy, Chelsea managed to come out on top and advance in the Champions League. The win will alleviate the pressure on manager Graham Potter, who has been under fire in recent weeks.
After the game, Havertz defended Potter, saying that the team is 100% behind him. The win also keeps Chelsea's hopes alive of winning some silverware this season.
