Let's look at how teams from Group 3 fared in their respective County Championship fixtures.

Yorkshire v Sussex, Headingley

Sussex 313 (Brown 127; Thompson 3-53) lead Yorkshire 272/2 (Malan 103; Ibrahim 1-32) by 41 runs.

Ben Brown could add only one run to his overnight tally before falling to Ben Coad for 127 early on Day 2. Daniel Ibrahim made 55, but the tail did not offer much resistance as Sussex posted 313 in the first innings. Jordan Thompson took three wickets, while Coad and David Willey claimed two each.

In reply, Adam Lyth (48) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (25) frustrated the bowlers, adding 83 runs for the first wicket before the latter got lbw to Ibrahim. Lyth followed shortly afterwards. Dawid Malan (103*) and Gary Ballance (73*) then took charge, and are the midst of an unbroken 177-run stand.

Glamorgan v Lancashire, Cardiff

Lancashire 173 (Bailey 31; Neser 3-46) and 164 (Davies 47; Neser 4-53) lead Glamorgan 150 (Labuschagne 44; Mahmood 3-34) and 137/3 (Lloyd 41; Parkinson 1-22) by 50 runs

Fourteen wickets fell on Day 2 of the County Championship fixture between Lancashire and Glamorgan, five fewer than the 19 on Day 1. At the end of it all, Glamorgan need 51 runs to win. They have seven wickets in hand.

Glamorgan could not add anything to their overnight tally. Bowled out for 150, they conceded a 23-run lead. Tom Bailey and Saqib Mahmood picked three wickets each, while Danny Lambs had two, including that of Marnus Labuschagne.

Lancashire failed to improve on the batting efforts from the first innings, and were bowled out for 164. Alex Davies’ 47 was the highest score of the innings. He was dismissed by Michael Neser, who returned impressive figures of 13-1-53-4 to finish with a match haul of 7-99.

Glamorgan saw off the day on 137/3, and they need another 51 runs to win. At the crease are Labuschagne (32) and Kiran Carlson (14).

Kent vs Northamptonshire, Canterbury

Northamptonshire 362/5 (Gay 101; Stevens 2-52) vs Kent

Rain played spoilsport as not a single over of play was possible in the County Championship fixture between Kent and Northamptonshire.
