Division 1

Yorkshire v Warwickshire, Headingley

Warwickshire 155 (Burgess 66; Patterson 4-34) and 176 (Sibley 45; Thompson 5-52) lead Yorkshire 110 (Ballance 58; Norwell 4-27) and 50/3 (Ballance 21*; Woakes 1-11) by 173 runs.

Yorkshire have seven wickets in hand and will need 174 more runs on Day 3 to win against at Headingley. They were earlier shot out for 110 to give Warwickshire a 45-run first-innings lead.

Jordan Thompson returned 5-52 to bowl Warwickshire 176 in the second innings. Then Yorkshire reached 50/3 before the close of play.

Somerset v Lancashire, Taunton

Lancashire 373 (Wells 103; Brooks 4-77) lead Somerset 90 (Azhar Ali 39; Blatherwick 4-28) and 226/4 (Lammonby 100; Wells 3-8) by 57 runs.

Lancashire are in total control in Taunton after bowling Somerset out for 90. They were all out for 373 earlier, and Tom Bailey (71) was the last to be dismissed. Azhar Ali's 39 was the highest in Somerset’s 90 before they were asked to follow-on.

Somerset were 194/1 at one stage, but lost three wickets in no time to slip to 199/4. Tom Lammonby top-scored in this total, with 100. They reached 226/4 at stumps, and still need 37 more to ask Lancashire to bat again.

Hampshire v Nottinghamshire, Southampton

Hampshire 226 (Gubbins 54; Hutton 3-40) and 133/7 (Vince 52; Paterson 3-16) lead Nottinghamshire 155 (Slater 55; Barker 7-46) by 204 runs.

Keith Barker returned a career-best 7-46 for Hampshire on Day 2 against Nottinghamshire. It helped bundle Notts out for 155 after posting 226 in the first innings.

Hampshire were then reduced to 28/4 in the second innings. But James Vince (52) recovered them from there to reach 133/7 by stumps.

Division 2

Surrey v Essex, The Oval

Essex 439 (Cook 165; Taylor 2-44) lead Surrey 107/7 (Amla 58*; Porter 2-17) by 332 runs.

Alastair Cook top-scored with 165 to help Essex pile 439 all out against Surrey at The Oval. Surrey then struggled to reach 107/7 in reply, with Hashim Amla still unbeaten on 58. Along with Amla, only two Surrey batters have reached double digits so far.

Northamptonshire v Durham, Northampton

Northamptonshire 183 (Procter 76; Potts 4-42) and 10/0 (Vasconcelos 5*) trail Durham 400 (Potts 81; Sanderson 4-41) by 207 runs.

Durham resumed Day 2 on 108/4, trailing by 75 runs against Northamptonshire. Scott Borthwick (73), Graham Clark (42), Paul Coughlin (48), Matty Potts (81) and Liam Trevaskis (77*) chipped in with useful contributions to take their side to 400 all out.

Notts batted the final four overs of the day under the floodlights, and reached 10/0.

Glamorgan v Gloucestershire, Cardiff

Glamorgan 309 (Lloyd 73; Price 3-44) lead Gloucestershire 224/4 (Dent 75; Salter 2-47) by 85 runs.

Gloucestershire picked up the last four Glamorgan wickets for 45 before lunch to bowl out Glamorgan for 309. Eddie Byrom was the last to go for 78.

Gloucestershire replied strongly, and reached 224/4, thanks to Chris Dent’s 75 and Graeme van Buuren’s 65 not out.

Division 3

Middlesex v Worcestershire, Lord’s

Middlesex 144 (Holden 52; Barnard 4-43) and 233/6 (Simpson 59*; Morris 3-43) lead Worcestershire 171 (Baker 61*; Murtagh 5-64) by 206 runs.

Middlesex trailed by 27 runs against Worcestershire when they began their second innings. But they were left reeling on at 39-4 after lunch, courtesy a burst from Charlie Morris (3-43).

John Simpson recovered Middlesex from there, and was well supported by Max Holden (46) and Martin Andersson (45) to steer Middlesex to 233/6. They now lead by 206 runs.

Leicestershire v Sussex, Grace Road

Sussex 359/9 (Brown 133*; Wright 6-94) lead Leicestershire 291/2 (Azad 122*; Haines 1-7) by 68 runs.

Chris Wright returned 6-94 for Leicestershire, and took four of Sussex's remaining six wickets on Day 2 at the Grace Road. Sussex lost their final five wickets for just 25 runs to finish on 359/9.

Hassan Azad forged 103 for the second wicket with George Rhodes (37) and, added another unbroken 183 with Lewis Hill to take Leicestershire to 291/2. They are now 68 runs behind, with both Azad and Hill still in the middle, on 122 and 109 respectively.

Derbyshire v Kent, Derby

Kent 285 (Leaning 82*; Aitchison 4-83) and 147/1 (Crawley 68; Dal 1-48) lead Derbyshire 156 (Conners 39; Stewart 5-23) by 276 runs.

Kent dominated Derbyshire on Day 2 at Derby. Billy Godleman and Sam Conners made 31 and 39 respectively but they were dismissed for 156, with Grant Stewart returning 5-23.

Zak Crawley (68) and Jordan Cox (58*) then extended Kent's lead to 276, as they finished with 147/1.
