Division 1

Lancashire v Hampshire, Liverpool

Hampshire 143 (Crane 25; Parkinson 3-9) and 193 (Vince 69; Bailey 7-37) lost to Lancashire 141 (Croft 40; Abbas 5-48) and 198/9 (Vilas 47*; Crane 5-41) by 1 wicket.

Lancashire shattered Hampshire's hopes of a first County Championship title since 1973 with a nerve-racking one-wicket win at Aigburth, Liverpool.

After resuming Day 3 on 158/7, Lancashire’s Tom Bailey returned career-best figures of 7-37 to bowl Hampshire out for 193.

Alex Davies (44) gave Lancashire a steady start before Dane Vilas (47*) took them home at 198/9. Mason Crane's valiant 5-41 went in vain.

Nottinghamshire v Yorkshire, Trent Bridge

Nottinghamshire 292 (Clarke 109; Coad 3-71) and 42/1 (Duckett 23*; Coad 1-24) trail Yorkshire 73 (Thompson 16; Evison 4-13) and 396 (Lyth 153; Paterson 3-39) by 132 runs.

Adam Lyth kept Yorkshire's winning chances alive against Nottinghamshire with a sublime 153 after they were asked to follow on. Yorkshire finished on 396 in their second innings to set a target of 174 for Nottinghamshire. Notts closed on 42/1, needing 132 more for win.

Warwickshire v Somerset, Edgbaston

Warwickshire 367 (Hain 83; Overton 5-48) and 179/1 (Yates 72*; Davey 1-32) lead Somerset 389 (Gregory 68; Bresnan 3-35) by 157 runs.

Warwickshire still have a slim chance of winning the County Championship, but they have to bowl out Somerset on the final day at Edgbaston.

Warwickshire closed the day on 179/1, with a lead of 157 runs. They have to score runs quickly in the next session to give their bowlers something to defend. Rob Yates and Will Rhodes are unbeaten on 72 and 42 respectively, while Dom Sibley scored 50.

Division 2

Surrey v Glamorgan, The Oval

Glamorgan 672/6 decl. (Cooke 205; Virdi 3-141) lead Surrey 387/2 (Smith 138; Byrom 2-52) by 285 runs.

Surrey resumed on 45/0 and responded strongly on Day 3 after Glamorgan's massive 672-6 at The Oval. The match is likely to end as draw as Surrey closed the day on 287/2. Jamie Smith struck 17 fours in his 138, while Hashim Amla and Ollie Pope are still in the middle, on 87 and 95 respectively. Ryan Patel made 62.

Division 3

Kent v Middlesex, Canterbury

Middlesex 147 (Stoneman 59; Stevens 4-21) and 363 (Stoneman 109; Milnes 5-87) trail Kent 138 (Muyeye 30; Bamber 3-36) and 275/5 (Robinson 112; Murtagh 2-23) by 97 runs.

Ollie Robinson and Tawanda Muyeye helped Kent to steer on a pole position against Middlesex after Day 3 at Canterbury. Kent were chasing 373 to win, and Robinson and Muyeye added 172 for the fifth wicket to take Kent to 275/5 at stumps. Muyeye is still unbeaten on 76, while Robinson fell for 112. They now need 98 to win, with five wickets in hand.

Sussex v Derbyshire, Hove

Derbyshire 465 (Madsen 111; Crocombe 4-92) lead 23/1 (Critchley 15*; Crocombe 1-8) beat Sussex 300 (Brown 157, Carson 64*; Aitchison 4-80) and 187 (Rawlins 58; Madsen 2-8).by 9 wickets.

Sussex resumed Day 3 on 255/6 against Derbyshire, and were bowled out for 300. The innings included six batters who fell without scoring. Derbyshire needed just 23 runs to win, and they reached the target with nine wickets in hand.

Worcestershire v Leicestershire, New Road

Leicestershire 222 (Kimber 71; Leach 3-38) and 211 (Rhodes 90; Leach 3-25) lost to Worcestershire 422 (Libby 77) and 12/0 (Mitchell 9*) by 10 wickets.

Worcestershire registered an easy 10-wicket win over Leicestershire at New Road. They resumed Day 3 on 378/6 in their first innings, and reached 422, with Jake Libby top-scoring with 77.

Leicestershire were reduced to 35/4 in their second innings. George Rhodes’ career-best 90 and Ben Mike's 58 rescued them from there, but it was not enough. They were bundled out for 211. Worcestershire then scored the target off 12 in hurry.
