The 2021 Caribbean Premier League will get underway on 26 August, with Guyana Amazon Warriors taking on defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts.

Kieron Pollard’s Trinbago have won three out of the last four CPL campaigns. They did not lose a single game last year en route to the title, where they beat St Lucia Zouks by eight wickets in the final.
The star-studded roster, featuring Sunil Narine, Lendl Simmons, Tim Seifert and Colin Munro, now also has the in-form Jayden Seales. However, they will miss Dwayne Bravo, who left the squad ahead of the new season.
Guyana do boast of Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez, veterans of this format. They also have West Indies’ twenty-over specialists Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran.
Fantasy Tips
– Pick both Pooran and Seifert among wicketkeepers.
– Make Munro captain. He is hungrier for runs after not being picked up for the T20 World Cup.
– Do not ignore Hafeez, Narine and Pollard. They can produce good value with both bat and ball.
