Barbados Royals will take on Jamaica Tallawahs on 28 August, in Match 6 of the Caribbean Premier League 2021, at Warner Park, St Kitts.

After suffering back-to-back defeats, Jason Holder’s Barbados are currently languishing at seventh in the points table. They were beaten by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 21 runs in the second match of the season, and lost to Trinbago Knight Riders by six wickets less than 24 hours ago.

In their last encounter, Holder promoted himself ahead of Shai Hope at No. 3. The plan did not work. Glenn Phillips and Johnson Charles are yet to start the innings in their familiar style.

However, Barbados can take some positives from the form of their Pakistani duo, Mohammad Amir and Azam Khan. Azam scored a 16-ball 28 and a 21-ball 30, while Amir has figures of 8-0-41-4 so far.

Led by Rovman Powell, Jamaica began the season with a 120-run win over Saint Lucia Kings. Their top five – Chadwick Walton, Kennar Lewis, Haider Ali, Powell himself, and Andre Russell – all contributed towards 255/5 after they were asked to bat.

Migael Pretorius then ran through Saint Lucia to bowl them out for 135 with 15 balls to spare. Imran Khan took the final three wickets.

Jamaica are clear favourites before heading to this fixture, yet Barbados will be looking to stage a comeback to avoid a hat-trick of defeats.

Betway Fantasy Tips

– Pick Russell and Holder as captain and vice-captain respectively. They can fetch value with both bat and ball.

– Back Charles for this match. He can provide Barbados with a destructive start.

– Do not ignore Amir and Hayden Walsh Jr, though the latter is yet to take a wicket this season.
