Prasidh Krishna recovers, to join Team India on 23 May

M Prasidh Krishna, one of four standby players for India’s six Test tour of England, has recovered from Covid-19. He will travel to Mumbai from Bengaluru on 23 May.

Prasidh was one of the four Kolkata Knight Riders players who was tested positive for the virus prior to the IPL 2021 postponement.

India Men and Women are likely to leave for England on 2 June in a charter flight.

CPL 2021: Tallawahs retain Russell, Braithwaite; Patriots keep Cottrell, Lewis

Jamaica Tallawahs have retained seven cricketers including Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite, Rovman Powell, and Chadwick Walton, for the upcoming CPL season, starting 28 August.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have kept Evin Lewis, Sheldon Cottrell, Fabian Allen, Rayad Emrit and Jon-Russ Jaggesar on their roster. They have also roped in Dwayne Bravo from Trinbago Knight Riders in a trade deal for Denesh Ramdin, and have signed Sherfane Rutherford from Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Barbados Tridents have retained their core unit, of Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Kyle Mayers and Johnson Charles. Likewise, defending champions Trinbago have kept Kieron Pollard, Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, Sunil Narine and Darren Bravo.

Peshawar Zalmi appoint Inzamam as batting consultant

Peshawar Zalmi have announced Inzamam-ul-Haq as their new batting consultant and mentor for the remainder of the PSL season. ‘Legend Inzamam Ul Haq joins Peshawar Zalmi as Mentor/Batting Consultant for remaining matches of PSL 6,’ they tweeted on 22 May.

On Thursday, the PCB confirmed that the remaining 20 PSL matches will be staged next month in Abu Dhabi. Peshawar is currently placed at second in the points table, with six points from five games.

Shimron Hetmyer and Johnson Charles will play for Multan Sultans.

CWI to conduct professional cricketers’ draft on 25 May

West Indies to host Australia, South Africa, Pakistan in June-August

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced they will hold their professional cricketers’ draft for the 2021/22 season virtually on 25 May via video call. Nearly 100 cricketers will be contesting for 12 spots.

Six territorial board franchises will convene to draft. Each team will choose two players in two rounds. They will be added to their pre-selected squad of 13 protected players for playing in the upcoming Super50 Cup and the West Indies Championship.
