Cooch Behar Trophy postponed due to Covid-19

The Cooch Behar Trophy has been postponed by the BCCI amidst the rising Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra. The league stage has already been completed, and only seven knock-out matches are left. 

'Unfortunately, there have been Covid 19 cases within the team environment and we are now forced to postpone the knockout stage, keeping the health and safety of everyone concerned,' said BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

Ahmedabad franchise gets Letter of Intent

The Ahmedabad IPL franchise, owned by the CVC group, has finally received a Letter of Intent from the BCCI. They were stuck in legal turmoil due to CVC's involvement in betting firms across the world. They are allowed to sign three players ahead of the mega-auction.

'The two teams have been cleared and we will issue the Letter of Intent (LoI) after tomorrow's GC meeting. The teams are through by all practical purposes,' Brijesh Patel, the IPL chair told Cricbuzz.

New Zealand on top after bowling out Bangladesh for 126

Bangladesh are in a spot of bother after getting bowled out for 126 on Day 2 of the final Test match, in Christchurch. They still trail by 395 runs, and are likely to bat again if New Zealand enforce a follow on.

Yasir Ali's 55 was the highest score of the Bangladesh innings, while Trent Boult claimed five wickets. Earlier, Devon Conway registered his third Test century, while Tom Latham scored 252.

Sydney Thunder defeat Hobart Hurricanes by nine wickets

Sydney Thunder beat Hobart Hurricanes by nine wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Alex Hales' 56-ball 80 helped the Thunder chase down 140 set by the Hurricanes in just 17.2 overs. Earlier, the Hurricanes managed only 139/6 after electing to bat first. Ben McDermott top-scored with 38.
