Hamish Bennett retires from all forms of cricket

Hashim Bennett announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. This will be his last season. He played 31 times for New Zealand, most recently in September 2021.

'I've been so fortunate to work and play alongside so many great players, captains and coaches and I'd like to thank every one of them for their support over the years. It's been an honour to represent my family and my country for New Zealand and those memories and experiences will be ones that I cherish and tell stories about for the rest of my life,' he said.

Hasan Ali arrives in Manchester for County Championship

Hasan Ali has reached Manchester on Saturday to play in the County Championship for Lancashire. He will be available for the first seven games before joining the national team. His first game will be against Kent, starting later this week.

'I would like to thank the Lancashire management for the opportunity. I'm very excited and looking forward to sharing the dressing room with their players; obviously we have Jimmy bhai, Jimmy Anderson, so I'm very happy and very excited,' said he.

Bangladesh hopeful of hosting Sri Lanka

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) remain hopeful of hosting Sri Lanka for a bilateral Test series despite the political crisis that has engulfed the latter. Both teams are scheduled to play two-match Test series, beginning on 15 May.

'What we still know, the tour will be held as per the schedule, and we are planning everything according to the schedule. I think SLC are also committed, they will also tour as per the schedule,' said BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury.

Chennai beat Bangalore by 23 runs
