Andrew McDonald appointed full-time head coach

Cricket Australia (CA) appointed Andrew McDonald the full-time head coach of the senior men's team. McDonald joined the side after Justin Langer's resignation and oversaw a successful tour of Pakistan.

'Andrew has already shown he is an outstanding Head Coach and the vision he outlined for the role during the appointment process was both impressive and exciting, making him our clear choice,' said CA chief Nick Hockley.

Birmingham Phoenix appoint Vettori as head coach

Daniel Vettori has been appointed the head coach of Birmingham Phoenix for the upcoming season of The Hundred. He will succeed Andrew McDonald, who will join Australia Men as head coach. 

'I absolutely loved my time working with the Birmingham Phoenix squad as head coach last summer, so taking on the role on a permanent basis was a very easy decision,' said Vettori.

Luke Georgeson to play for Ireland

Luke Georgeson has signed a two-year contract with Cricket Ireland, four years after he represented New Zealand in the ICC Under-19 World Cup. He played for Northern Knights last year, and decided to commit to Ireland.

'Obviously I'm very pleased to have been offered a contract with Cricket Ireland,' said Georgeson. 'It's been a big decision to step away from the Wellington Firebirds and domestic cricket in New Zealand, but it's an extremely exciting opportunity to get stuck-in with the Irish and Northern Knights lads.'

Punjab beat Mumbai by 12 runs

Punjab Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in Match 23 of the Indian Premier League 2022 at the MCA Stadium, Gahunje, Pune.

Chasing 199, Mumbai Indians were restricted to 186. Odean Smith (4-30) was the pick of the Punjab bowlers. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan top-scored with 70, and Mayank Agarwal made 52 in 32 balls. They added 97 for the opening wicket.
