Livingstone joins Punjab Kings for INR 11.50 Cr
Liam Livingstone became the most expensive foreign player in the IPL 2022 auctions when Punjab Kings signed him up for INR 11.50 crores. Livingstone can also bowl off spin and leg spin, and hit England's fastest T20I century, in 42 balls against Pakistan last year. He cost INR 75 lakhs when he was signed by Rajasthan Royals last season.
Meanwhile, Jofra Archer joined Mumbai Indians for INR 8 crores. Archer will not play in IPL 2022 as he continues his recovery from elbow surgery, but is likely to play in 2023 and 2024.

Australia beat Sri Lanka in Super Over in the second T20I
Australia edged Sri Lanka in the Super Over on 13 February in Sydney to go 2-0 up in the five-match T20I series. Marcus Stoinis hit the winning runs with three balls to spare after Josh Hazlewood restricted Sri Lanka to five runs in their Super Over.
Sri Lanka had earlier scored 18 in the final over of their main innings, including four off the last ball, to level Australia's total of 164/6. Josh Inglis top-scored for Australia, with 32-ball 48.
Smith suffers concussion, to miss the rest of the Sri Lanka T20I series
Steven Smith has been ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series against Sri Lanka after suffering a concussion while fielding in the second match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Cricket Australia confirmed that Smith had suffered a concussion after landing on his head following a spectacular diving attempt to save a six in the last over of the second innings.
He will now be subjected to low-level concussion protocols over the next few days, and is expected to make a full recovery within a week. However, he will miss the final three games, in Canberra and Melbourne.
CA further confirmed that they will not add a replacement player to the squad at this stage.
Shahid Afridi ends seven-year PSL career
Shahid Afridi decided to end his Pakistan Super League career due to a persistent back problem. Afridi also said that he decided to play in this season's PSL only for the sake of 'fans'. He last played for Pakistan about six years ago.
Afridi suffered a back injury during a training session, and also tested positive for Covid-19 before the ongoing edition of the PSL. He played the final match of his PSL career for Quetta Gladiators against Islamabad United on 12 February. He has also played for Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings in the previous seasons.
