West Indies announce World Cup squad

Cricket West Indies announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming Women's World Cup in New Zealand. Stafanie Taylor will lead the side, with Anisa Mohammad as deputy. Afy Fletcher returns to the side after a maternity break. The reserves include Kaysia Schultz, Mandy Mangru, and Jannillea Glasgow.

Sri Lanka avoid 5-0 sweep

Sri Lanka chased down 155 with five wickets and a ball to spare to avoid a 0-5 sweep against Australia. Kusal Mendis remained unbeaten on 69, and added 83 with Dasun Shanaka (35) to see Sri Lanka through.

Earlier, Matthew Wade scored 43 in 27 balls and Glenn Maxwell made 29 as Australia posted 154/6 in 20 overs. Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera claimed two wickets each.

India beat West Indies by 17 runs

India completed a 3-0 clean sweep over West Indies after winning the final T20I at Eden Gardens by 17 runs. Chasing 185, the West Indies could only manage 167/9, thanks to some brilliant bowling at the death by Shardul Thakur and Harshal Patel. Nicholas Pooran top-scored with 61, while Romario Shepherd kept them in the game with his 21-ball 29. With 3-22, Harshal was the pick of the bowlers.

For India, Suryakumar Yadav scored a fiery 65, and Venkatesh Iyer made 35 in 19 balls.

Quetta Gladiators beat Karachi Kings by 23 runs

Karachi Kings succumbed to the ninth defeat of PSL 2022. They fell 23 runs short of the target set by Quetta Gladiators. Jason Roy was adjudged Player of the Match for his 64-ball 82 that propelled the Gladiators to 166/4.

In response, Joe Clarke (52) and Babar Azam (36) added 87 for the first wicket for the Kings, but the rest of the batters failed to rise up to the occasion, as the Kings could only manage 143.
