ICC rates Bengaluru pitch 'below average'

The pitch used in Bengaluru for the second Test match between India and Sri Lanka has been rated 'below average' by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The venue has also been awarded a demerit point. India beat Sri Lanka by 238 runs within three days in the Test match.

"The pitch offered a lot of turn on the first day itself and though it improved with every session, in my view, it was not an even contest between bat and ball," Javagal Srinath, the match referee concluded in his report.

South Africa level series with seven-wicket win

South Africa levelled the three-match ODI series with a seven-wicket win against Bangladesh in the second game at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Kagiso Rabada was adjudged Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul that restricted Bangladesh to 194. If not for Afif Hossain's 72, South Africa would have wrapped up this contest much earlier.

For South Africa, Quinton de Kock and Kyle Verreynne struck half-centuries as they completed the chase in 37.2 overs.

Moeen doubtful for CSK's opening game

Moeen Ali may miss the opening game of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2022 as he awaits his visa clearance by the Indian High Commission. Defending champions Chennai will take on Kolkata Knight Riders on 26 March, but Moeen is still at his home.

'We spoke to him about the issue and he is hoping that matter will be resolved soon, all necessary documentation has been done but don't know why his visa approval hasn't come. As soon he will get his Visa he will fly to India and join the team,' CSK CEO Kashi Viswanathan said.

England beat New Zealand by 1 wicket

New Zealand suffered their fourth defeat at the ICC Women's ODI World Cup. They failed to defend 204 against England in a match that went down to the wire. Anya Shrubsole eventually finished the match with a four in the 48th over. Nat Sciver was adjudged as Player of the Match for her 61 as Frances Mackay claimed four wickets for New Zealand.

Earlier, an unbeaten 54 from Maddy Green helped New Zealand reach a fighting total.
