England pulls out of both Pakistan tours

England have pulled out their Men's and Women's tour to Pakistan, scheduled to take place in mid-October. The ECB cited ‘increasing concerns about travelling to the region’ for taking the decision. England’s withdrawal came just three days after New Zealand abandoned their limited-overs tour of Pakistan just before the start of play of the first match, citing security concerns.

England Men were due to play two T20Is on 13 and 14 October in Rawalpindi, which were also double-headers with the Women’s team. The women were then scheduled to play three ODIs on 17, 19 and 21 October.

Kolkata powers Bangalore away by nine wickets

Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a thumping nine-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 31 of the IPL 2021 in Abu Dhabi. Batting first, they were skittled out for just 92 in 19 overs. Devdutt Padikkal top-scored with 22, while Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell claimed three wickets apiece.

Shubman Gill and debutant Venkatesh Iyer then forged a 82-run opening wicket stand in 52 balls to reduce the game to a one-sided affair. Gill fell two short of fifty, but Iyer remained until the end to steer Kolkata home in 10 overs.

New Zealand and Sri Lanka will tour India for two Tests and three T20Is each, in November and March respectively. In between, in February, West Indies will play three ODIs and as many T20Is. And South Africa will visit for five T20Is in June.
