Moeen to miss opening game of IPL 2022

Moeen Ali still awaits his visa clearance from the Indian High Commission, making him unavailable for Chennai Super Kings' opening game, against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Moeen had applied for the visa almost a month ago. Despite being a frequent traveller, his visa approval is pending.

'It's terrible but we can't do anything. Moeen has played in India a good few times so I don't see why (has not been granted the visa yet). We are hoping he will get the visa soon,' Moeen's father Munir Ali told Cricbuzz.

Shakib to return home on 24 March

Shakib Al Hasan might not be available for Bangladesh's Test series in South Africa, starting from 31 March. He will rush home on 24 March due to personal issues.  Shakib played key role in Bangladesh's historic ODI series win in South Africa.

'Yes, he is returning home tomorrow (March 24). 'We are not ruling him out of the Test series yet considering he will take a decision after assessing the condition of his family members,' Minhajul Abedin, the chief selector, told Cricbuzz.

Andrew Tye replaces Mark Wood at LSG

Andrew Tye will join Lucknow Super Giants as replacement for Mark Wood ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022. Wood injured his right elbow during the first Test between England and West Indies, and was ruled out of the entire series.

Tye, who went unsold in the mega auction, is acquired at the base price of INR 1 crore. He was the leading wicket-taker of the IPL 2022 while playing for Punjab Kings.

Lucknow have also roped in Blessing Muzarabani as a net bowler.

Zubayr Hamza found guilty of doping

Zubayr Hamza has agreed to voluntary suspension after testing positive for Furosemide, a drug on the list of banned substances by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Hamza has played six Tests and an ODI for South Africa. He was a part of the South African squad for the Bangladesh series before he withdrew his name.

'Zubayr is not disputing the positive test, is cooperating fully with the ICC, and has agreed to a voluntary suspension commencing immediately whilst written submissions are presented to the ICC,' CSA stated.
