Mehidy ruled out of first Test against Sri Lanka

Bangladesh will miss the service of Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the first Test match against Sri Lanka, starting 15 May. Miraz suffered a hairline injury on the day BCB confirmed a 16-member squad. Nayeem Hasan has been announced as a replacement.

'He is definitely ruled out from the opening Test due to a hairline injury while he is also doubtful for the second Test,' Habibul Bashar, a member of the national selection panel, said.

Razzak to join High Performance Unit

Abdur Razzak, the former Bangladesh cricketer, will join the High Performance Unit in a coaching role. Razzak was recently appointed as a member of the national selection panel.

'Yes, I will be joining the HP camp if everything goes according to plan," Razzak told Cricbuzz. 'It is not that I am shifting my focus on coaching at the moment but what I feel is that I have got lot of experience that I can share with the young boys and if they benefit by it that will be extremely satisfying.'

Graeme Smith cleared of racism charge

Graeme Smith has been absolved of the racism allegations due to lack of evidence against him. He was accused of racial discrimination for appointing Mark Boucher ahead of Enoch Nkwe as South Africa's head coach.

'The manner in which these issues have been dealt with and resolved by the arbitration proceedings confirms CSA's commitment to deal with the SJN issues in a manner that treats them with utmost seriousness but also ensures fairness, due process and finality,' said Lawson Naidoo, Chair of the CSA Board.
