Cummins rested for the T20I series against Sri Lanka

Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed squads for multi-format tour of Sri Lanka. They have rested Pat Cummins for the T20I series and dropped Marcus Harris from the Test side, while retaining Scott Boland.

Mosaddek Hossain included in Bangladesh's squad

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has included Mosaddek Hossain in their Test squad to strengthen their batting order. Earlier, Nayeem Hasan was announced as a replacement for injured Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

CSA announces new T20 competition

Cricket South Africa (CSA) and SuperSport have joined hands to launch a new T20 competition. The first edition, featuring six privately owned franchises, will take place in January 2023. 

'We are excited by the formation of something this fresh and invigorating, which also offers the opportunity for private investment into the franchises,' said Pholetsi Moseki, CSA CEO. 'CSA has already received interest from a number of potential local and international investors.'

Punjab slipped to a 20-run defeat

Lucknow Super Giants beat Punjab Kings by 20 runs in Match 42 of the Indian Premier League 2022. Chasing 154, they could only manage 133/8. Barring Jonny Bairstow, who top-scored with 32, none of the Punjab batters offered any resistance. For Lucknow, Mohsin Khan claimed three wickets, while Dushmantha Chameera and Krunal Pandya took two apiece. Earlier in the night, Quinton de Kock scored 46 and Deepak Hooda 34.
