Dhoni returns as Chennai captain

M.S. Dhoni will return as Chennai Super Kings captain for the rest of IPL 2022 after Ravindra Jadeja stepped down from the role. Jadeja's reign lasted only eight games, of which Chennai won only two. They are now positioned just above only Mumbai Indians in the points table.

'Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game and has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest and to allow Jadeja to focus on his game,' the statement from Chennai read.

Knight Riders, MLC to build stadium in Los Angeles

Kolkata Knight Riders have teamed up with Major League Cricket (MLC) to build a 10,000-seat stadium near Los Angeles. The venue will host the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 matches. 

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, said: 'Our investment in MLC in America, is based on our belief in the exciting future of cricket in the USA and is well aligned to our strategy of establishing Knight Riders as a global brand in T20 cricket.'

Shoriful available for Sri Lanka Test series

Shoriful Islam will be available for Bangladesh's first Test match against Sri Lanka. The Bangladesh Cricket Board recently sent him to Singapore for a medical check-up for abdominal issues that have been bothering him for some time.

'He is available for us from the opening Test against Sri Lanka as he will not require any operation at the moment,' said BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin. 'It will be big boost for us considering we are also missing the service of Taskin [Ahmed] at the moment.'

Mumbai finally win in IPL 2022

Mumbai Indians registered their first win in IPL 2022. They beat Rajasthan Royals by five wickets. They chased down 159 with four balls and six wickets in hand, thanks to an 81-run stand between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma. Suryakumar scored 51 in 39 balls, while Varma made 35. For Rajasthan, Jos Buttler top-scored with 67.
