Mumbai beat Rajasthan by eight wickets

Mumbai Indians their hopes of reaching the IPL 2021 Playoffs alive with an eight-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals in Match 51 of the competition in Sharjah.

Nathan Coulter-Nile (4-14) and Jimmy Neesham (3-12) ran through Rajasthan batters to restrict them to 90/9 after Rohit Sharma put them in. Ishan Kishan then struck an unbeaten 25-ball 50 to guide Mumbai reach the target in just 8.2 overs.

Tom Curran replaces brother Sam

Sam Curran has been ruled out of the England squad for the T20 World Cup. He complained of back pain after playing the IPL fixture for Chennai Super Kings on 2 October. He will return to the UK soon, where the England medical team will run further scans to assess the injury.

Tom Curran has been added to the squad as his brother’s replacement, while Reece Topley has been added as standby option.

England's will begin the World Cup campaign against West Indies on 23 October.

Scotland thrash Ireland in warm-up T20

George Munsey's 25-ball 67 steered Scotland to a five-wicket win against Ireland in their Men's T20 World Cup warm-up match in Dubai.

Left reeling at 20/3, Ireland but recovered to reach 176 after being asked to bat, courtesy Harry Tector’s 38, Curtis Campher’s 35, and Neil Rock’s 19-ball 32.

Munsey then smacked five sixes and seven fours to set the tone, before Michael Leask (29* in 15 balls) and Craig Wallace (29*) took Scotland home with 13 balls to spare.

Russell, du Plessis confirmed for Abu Dhabi T10 League

As per IANS, Faf du Plessis, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy and Chris Gayle will feature in the fifth season of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, to be held between 19 November and 4 December.

Du Plessis will play as the icon player for the Bangla Tigers, while Russell will be in the same role for the Deccan Gladiators.

The competition draft is scheduled for 7 November, with 1,186 players from 26 nations up for grabs.
