Tamim set to return for second Test

After missing the first Test in Durban due to a stomach problem, Tamim Iqbal is available for selection for the second and final Test match of the series in South Africa. If he plays, this will be his first Test appearance since April 2021. He is likely to replace Shadman Islam and to open batting with Mahmudul Hasan Joy.

'Tamim bhai's condition is much better now and we are hopeful he will play the next game,' said Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque. 'Certainly we will play for a win and will try to play good cricket for 12 to 13 sessions without paying any attention to all the noise around.'

Mignon du Preez retires from Test and ODIs

Former South African captain Mignon du Preez has announced her retirement from both ODIs and Test cricket. Du Preez's 3,760 runs, from 154 ODIs, are the most in South African history. Her only Test appearance was against India in Mysuru in 2014/15. She also led South Africa 45 times between 2011 and 2016.

'I've been wonderfully fortunate to play in four ICC ODI World Cups to date,' said du Preez. 'These have been some of my most treasured memories in life. I feel South African women's cricket is in a very healthy state, and the time is right to step away and allow the next generation of exciting cricketers to continue to grow this beautiful game of ours.'
