Australia on top after Head's century

Australia have taken a massive stride in the game, thanks to a century from Travis Head. They closed Day 2 on 343/7, 196 runs ahead of England, with Head (112) and Mitchell Starc (12) at the crease. Earlier, David Warner (94) and Marnus Labuschagne (74) stitched a second-wicket stand of 156 runs. For England, Ollie Robinson claimed three wickets.

Shahid Afridi joins Quetta Gladiators 

Shahid Afridi and James Vince will feature for Quetta Gladiators in the forthcoming season of the Pakistan Super League. Both were traded by Multan Sultans. The Gladiators traded Azam Khan as well, to Islamabad United.

The seventh season of the PSL will begin on 27 January, and the final will be played exactly a month later, on 27 February. All matches will be staged in either Karachi or Lahore.

Will Young joins Northamptonshire

Will Young has signed a contract with Northamptonshire for the 2022 season. He played for Durham In 2021, and scored two centuries. In the recently concluded series against India, Young scored 89 in the first Test match, at Kanpur.

'I see it as a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to learn about the conditions in the UK but also to add as much as I can to the Northamptonshire environment,' said Young.

Adelaide Strikers defeats Melbourne Renegades

Adelaide strikers beat Melbourne Renegades by 49 runs in Match 6 of Big Bash league 2021/22. This was the first win of the season for the Strikers.

Batting first, the Strikers rode the thirties from Matthew Short and Jonathan Wells to post 149. In response, the Renegades were bowled out for 100. Wes Agar (3-17) was the pick of the bowlers.
