Suryakumar ruled out of remainder of IPL 2022

Suryakumar Yadav will miss the remainder of the Indian Premier League due to a forearm injury. He endured the injury in the match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans, and the BCCI medical staff advised him to take a rest. 

'Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left forearm and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised to rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team,' said Mumbai Indians said in a statement.

Holder rested for the tour to the Netherlands and Pakistan

Jason Holder has been rested for the upcoming white-ball tours to the Netherlands and Pakistan as Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced the ODI squad. West Indies will play their first ever ODI series against the Netherlands before touring Pakistan for three ODIs.

ICC to avoid corruption charges against Mansoor Akhtar

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to avoid pressing corruption charges against Pakistan bowler Mansoor Akhtar. Umar Akmal alleged Akhtar of approaching him for spot-fixing in Twenty20 cricket. 

'The investigation has now concluded, and the ICC will not be laying any charges against you. Decisions are made taking into account many factors however, if any further evidence comes to notice the ICC reserves the right to reopen the investigation,' said ICC Anti-Corruption senior manager Steven Richardson.

Kolkata beat Mumbai by 52 runs

Mumbai Indians were let down by their batters as they fell 52 runs short of the target of 162 set by Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 56 of Indian Premier League 2022.

For Mumbai, Jasprit Bumrah returned figures of 4-1-10-5, while Ishan Kishan scored 51. Venkatesh Iyer provided a breezy start to Kolkata, scoring a quickfire 43 before Nitish Rana's cameo propelled them to a fighting total. With this win, Kolkata kept their Playoffs hopes alive.
