The Indian women's cricket team defeated Barbados by a score of 100 runs on Wednesday, and they continued their strong play in their last pool match to advance to the semifinals.

Jemimah Rodrigues' undefeated 56 and cameos from Shafali Verma (43) and Deepti Sharma (34 not out) helped India record a large total of 162/4. That was too much for Barbados, who could only manage 62/8 in response.

While recently retired all-rounder Deandra Dottin went out for a duck in her final international match, Kyshona Knight led Barbados with 16 points.

With the bat, Jemimah Rodrigues stood out, scoring a solid 56 runs to assist India reach 162 runs. Barbados' reaction was limited to 62 runs as Renuka Singh stormed through the top order to secure yet another four-wicket haul.

With 4/10, Renuka Singh led the way for India in wicket-taking, while Meghna Singh, Sneh Rana, Radha Yadav, and Harmanpreet Kaur each contributed one.

After winning the toss, Barbados decided to bowl against India. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team must win in order to stay in the competition; otherwise, they would exit the group stage. India overcame Pakistan to restart their campaign after barely losing to Australia in a match they had largely dominated.

With a victory, Barbados would join Group A's champions Australia in the semifinals. Pakistan is no longer in the running after ending their campaign with three losses in a row.

India's next opponent will be determined following the final Group B matches on Thursday. With the win, India advances to the semifinals and takes second position in Group A.

In the semifinals on Saturday, India will take on either the hosts England or New Zealand.

Brief scores: India Women 162-4 in 20 overs (Shafali Verma 43, Jemimiah Rodrigues 56 not out, Deepti Sharma 34 not out) beat Barbados Women 62/8 in 20 overs (Renuka Singh 4-10) by 100 runs.
