Following a review of the senior women's team's performance and programme, Cricket West Indies (CWI) has decided not to renew the contracts of women's head coach Courtney Walsh and technical assistant coaches Robert Samuels and Corey Collymore.

Walsh's tenure, which began in October 2020, saw Pakistan win the Home and Away Series and secure a semifinal spot in the 2022 ICC Women's 50-over Cricket World Cup.

West Indies have won seven out of 24 T20Is and 11 out of 32 ODIs under Walsh. West Indies failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the recent T20 World Cup in South Africa after winning only two group stage matches – against Pakistan and Ireland.

"We are grateful for Courtney and his technical team's contributions over the last two and a half years, and we wish them all the best in the future. CWI is still committed to our international women's programme and will now focus on finding a new Head Coach and technical support team. During the recruitment period, an interim technical support team will be put in place "CWI Director of Cricket Jimmy Adams stated in a statement.

CWI has stated that it will soon begin the process of recruiting a new coach for the women's team.
