Campher's heroics drive Ireland to winning start

Curtis Campher became the first player to claim four wickets with four balls in the ICC T20 World Cup, as Ireland registered a seven-wicket win over the Netherlands. They chased down 107 in 15.1 overs.

For the Netherlands, Ben Cooper got run out in the first over, and Bas de Leede was bowled in the fifth. In the 10th over, Campher got rid of Colin Ackermann, Ryan ten Doeschate, Scott Edwards, and Roelof van der Merwe.

Ireland lost Kevin O'Brien and Andrew Balbirnie cheaply, but an unbeaten 30 from Paul Stirling, along with 29-ball 44 from Gareth Delany, helped them to mow down the target without any hiccups.

Sri Lanka defeated Namibia by seven wickets

Sri Lanka registered a seven-wicket win over Namibia to kickstart their campaign on a winning note. Namibia were bowled out for for 96, Craig Williams top-scoring with 29. Maheesh Theekshana picked three wickets, while Lahiru Kumara and Wanindu Hasaranga claimed two wickets each.

Sri Lanka chased down the target in 13.3 overs, thanks to a 74-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Avishka Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksa.

England to tour West Indies in 2022

England will tour West Indies in the start of 2022 to play three Tests and five T20Is. The first T20I will be played on 22 January, and the Test series will begin a month later, from 8 March. The Test matches will be a part of ICC Test Championship 2021-23.

India win the warm-up game

India put up a scintillating display to chase down 189 set up by England with an over to spare in their first warm-up game. K.L. Rahul scored 51 in 24 balls to get India off a rollicking start. Ishan Kishan began cautiously but accelerated well after Rahul's dismissal. He retired out for a 46-ball 70, allowing Suryakumar Yadav to bat. Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on 29 to finish the game with a six over mid-wicket.

Earlier, Moeen Ali's quickfire 40 and Jonny Bairstow's 36-ball 49 propelled England to 188/5. Mohammed Shami picked up 3-40, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar conceded 54 from four overs.
