Morgan hints dropping himself if lean patch continues

Eoin Morgan told Cricbuzz that he does not mind dropping himself from the playing XI if his form with the bat does not improve in the T20 World Cup. Morgan has averaged just a shade over 15 in Twenty20s this year.

'It's always something I've said – it's always an option. I'm not going to stand in the way of a team winning the World Cup. I've been short of runs but my captaincy has been pretty good, as it goes. So, yes is the answer,' he said.

Maxwell warns against writing Warner off

Glenn Maxwell has come forward in support of his teammate, David Warner, whose poor form refuses to desert him. Warner recently got a duck in the warm-up game against New Zealand. Before that, he had an ordinary IPL, and was eventually dropped by Sunrisers Hyderabad.

'If you ever doubt Davey, it's an absolute no-no. You know he's going to turn it around. He's a superstar of all three formats. He's made so many runs,' Maxwell told ESPNCricinfo.

Australia will take on India in the last warm-up game, on 20 October.
