South Africa defeat Bangladesh by six wickets

South Africa beat Bangladesh by six wickets at the T20 World Cup. Kagiso Rabada (3-20) and Anrich Nortje (3-8) shared six wickets to skittle out Bangladesh for 84 before an unbeaten 31 from Temba Bavuma helped South Africa chase the target in 13.3 overs.

The Bangladesh innings never gathered momentum, and they were bowled out for 84. South Africa, too, lost both openers, Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks, early in the chase. Aiden Markram fell cheaply as well, but Bavuma's 31 was enough to win the game.

They rode on a 113-run opening partnership between Mohammad Rizwan (79*) and Babar Azam (70) to post 189/2, and restricted Namibia to 144/5. A late surge from Mohammad Hafeez (32* off 16) helped them reach a daunting total.

Namibia lost Michael van Lingen early in response, but Craig Williams (40) and Stephan Baard added 47 for the second wicket. David Wiese remained unbeaten on 43.
