Scotland defeat Oman to reach Super 12

Scotland defeated Oman by eight wickets to book their place in Super 12 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. They  chased down with three overs to spare to emerge from Group B without a defeat.

Josh Davey (3-25), Safyaan Sharif (2-25) and Michael Leask (2-13) impressed with ball and restricted the hosts to a 122. Other than Aqib Ilyas (37) and Zeeshan Maqsood (34), no Omani batter could put anything substantial.

Kyle Coetzer and George Munsey then got Scotland off to a brisk start. Coetzer scored 41 off 28 to take the sting out of the game. The target allowed Matthew Cross (26* in 35) to play cautiously as Richie Berrington struck three sixes en route 21-ball 33.

Bangladesh defeat PNG by 84 runs

Bangladesh advanced to the Super 12 with an 84-run win over Papua New Guinea. The Bangladeshi opening pair failed again, but the other batters stepped up. Mahmudullah scored 50 off 28 deliveries and Shakib Al Hasan made 46 before Mohammad Saifuddin (19 off 6) and Afif Hossain (21 off 14) propelled them to 181/7 in 20 overs.

PNG never stood a chance, and they kept losing regular wickets. Kiplin Doriga's 46 was the highest score of their innings of 97. Shakib was equally impressive with the ball as well, picking four wickets.

West Indies women to tour Pakistan

West Indies Women are set to tour Pakistan in November for three ODIS. All three matches will be played at National Stadium in Karachi. Both sides will then depart for Zimbabwe to take part in ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier. The men's side will follow, for three ODIs and as many T20Is.

'West Indies women's tour will be followed by their men's side who will visit Pakistan for three ODIs and three T20Is in December. So, the Pakistan cricket fans can brace for some exciting and entertaining cricket in women's and men's cricket later this year,' said PCB chairman Ramiz Raza.

Sibley withdraws from Lions tour

Dom Sibley has opted out of the England Lions' tour of Australia later this year. Sibley earlier failed to make a cut for the Ashes due to poor form. He averages just over 19 in Test cricket in 2021.

He has been replaced by Yorkshire's Harry Brook. The Lions side will play two games against England's main squad and a four-day Test against Australia A.
