Yorkshire ineligible to host international cricket

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has barred Yorkshire County Cricket Club from hosting any official cricket match until they prove they 'can meet the standards expected of an international venue'. Yorkshire have been complacent in dealing with the racism issues raised by Azeem Rafiq.

'The YCCC’s handling of the issues raised by Azeem Rafiq is wholly unacceptable and is causing serious damage to the reputation of the game. The ECB find this matter abhorrent and against the spirit of cricket and its values, read the statement from the ECB.

Earlier, Yorkshire CCC lost several key sponsors, including Emerald, Nike, Anchor, Harrogate Spa Water, Tetleys, and Yorkshire Tea, for the same reason.

Australia beat Bangladesh

Adam Zampa's 5-19, the best figures for Australia in the T20 World Cup, set up a comfortable eight-wicket win. Other than Zampa, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood took two wickets apiece as Bangladesh were bowled out for 73. Four Bangladeshi batters failed to open their accounts, and Shamim Hossain's 19 was the highest of the innings.

Australia won in just 6.2 overs. Aaron Finch got a 20-ball 40, with four sixes and two fours. Mitchell Marsh struck six and two fours for his 5-ball 16 not out.

Sri Lanka beat West Indies by 20 runs

Sri Lanka finished their T20 World Cup campaign with a 20-run win against West Indies. Fifties from Pathum Nissanka (51) and Charith Asalanka (68) and a cameo from Dasun Shanaka propelled them to 189/3. For West Indies, Andre Russell picked up two wickets.

West Indies got off a poor start, losing two wickets for just 10. Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis both fell to Binura Fernando. Roston Chase's dismissal reduced them to 47/3. Shimron Hetmyer remained unbeaten on 81 as wickets fell at the other end. They could only manage 169/8.

Melbourne Renegades sign Chand

Unmukt Chand is all set to play for Melbourne Renegades in the upcoming season of the BBL. He had earlier announced his retirement and migrated to the USA to play in the local league.

'It wasn't easy, to be very honest, the fact that I won't be playing for the country any more is something that is difficult to accept. But I enjoying playing for the US, it's been getting better every day. And I can now play all the leagues around the world, that's a great opportunity for me personally,' said Chand.
