Indian cricket legends, M.S. Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Yuvraj Singh have been granted Honorary Life Membership of the prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), alongside women internationals Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami. The MCC, which is responsible for the game's rules, also awarded honorary memberships to England's World Cup-winning captain Eion Morgan, Kevin Pietersen, South African Dale Stein, and New Zealand's Ross Taylor.
Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and Bangladesh's Mashrafe Mortaza also made the list, as the MCC recognized some of the game's greatest contributors.
The MCC Cricket committee considers nominations for Honorary Life Membership, recognizing outstanding international careers of some of the greatest players in the game. The honor is also given to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to MCC or the game in general.
Guy Lavender, Chief Executive & Secretary of MCC, expressed his delight in welcoming this year's list of Honorary Life Members, including some of the most recognizable names in the modern game. "The names that have been announced today are some of the greatest international players of modern times, and we are privileged to now count them as valued Members of our Club," he added.
This year's list includes eight of the 12 Test-playing nations, and two non-playing contributors to the game were also granted Honorary Life Memberships. With this announcement, the MCC prepares for the upcoming international summer, looking forward to witnessing the talents of these players and their contributions to the game.
