Batting first, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan set up the tone for Pakistan by adding 150 runs in 15 overs for the opening wicket. Fakhar Zaman’s 8-ball 26 and Mohammad Hafeez’s 10-ball 24 did further damage to England as Pakistan piled a record 232/6.

Coming to chase, England were rampant on scoring runs but lost four wickets in the first seven overs. Still, Liam Livingstone’s career-best 103 kept the asking rate achievable. But once Livingstone departed in the 17th over, England lost control and was soon all out for 201 with four balls left in the contest.
