Let us have a look at how each of the English players fared in the three-match ODI series against Pakistan.

Saqib Mahmood 9 (M 3, W 9, Ave 13.67, ER 4.39)

Mahmood was sharp in his line and length, and extracted steep bounce. He was adjudged Player of the series after topping the wickets chart, with nine scalps at 4.39.

Lewis Gregory 8.5 (M 3, R 117, Ave 58.50, SR 101, W 4, Ave 24.25, ER 5.10)

An impressive debut for Gregory with both bat and ball. He had a 47-ball 40 and a 69-ball 77 in the last two matches, and took 4-97 from 19 overs.

James Vince 8 (M 3, R 159, Ave 78.50, SR 107)

Vince made an impact in both his innings. He scored 52-ball 56 in the second match, and hit a decisive 95-ball 102 in the third.

Philip Salt 6 (M 3, R 104, SR 34.66, SR 117)

After managing just 7 in the first match, Salt made a 54-ball 60 in the second, and a 22-ball 37 in the third.

Matthew Parkinson 6 (M 3, W 5, Ave 28, ER 5.83)

Parkinson, the only English spinner in the line-up, did a decent job, picking up five wickets at 5.83.

Zak Crawley 5.5 (M 3, R 97, Ave 48.50, SR 114)

Crawley had an unbeaten fifty in the first match, a golden duck in the second, and a 34-ball 39 in the third.

Brydon Carse 5.5 (M 3, W 6, Ave 22.66, ER 5.44)

Carse, another debutant, went wicketless in the first match, but claimed six wickets across the next two. His series economy was 5.44 an over.

Craig Overton 5.5 (M 3, W 4, Ave 31.50, ER 4.97)

Overton bowled accurately on his return, especially in the middle overs. His economy rate was also under five for his four wickets.

Dawid Malan 4.5 (M 3, R 68, Ave 34, SR 88)

Malan demonstrated composure in the first match with an unbeaten 68, but followed that with two ducks.

Ben Stokes 4 (M 3, R 54, Ave 27, SR 100, W 0)

With 22 and 32, Stokes did not enjoy a remarkable return in international cricket with bat. He only bowled five expensive overs. However, he will be remembered for leading this inexperienced side to a win against a major side.

John Simpson 4 (M 3, R 20, Ave 10, SR 65, C 9)

Having taken nine catches, Simpson kept wickets beautifully on debut. However, his batting needs improvement.
