The CommBank T20 International series between Australia and Pakistan is scheduled to take place from January 24-29. The same 15-player squad will also be travelling to South Africa for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in February.

Leg-spinners Georgia Wareham, who ruptured her ACL in October 2021, and Alyssa Healy, who is anticipated to recover from a calf injury she sustained in December in India, both make their long-awaited comebacks.

Although they were a member of the team that last competed in India, Nicola Carey, Phoebe Litchfield, and Amanda-Jade Wellington were not selected. Kim Garth and Heather Graham, who made their T20I debuts in December, retained their positions.

National Selector Shawn Flegler commented on the selection, saying: "It's never easy to reduce a group to just 15 players, but we're convinced we've picked a well-balanced side that's ready to fight for a third consecutive T20 title and well-positioned for the series against Pakistan.

It was fantastic to have Meg and Georgia back in action for Victoria. Both add to the team a wealth of expertise, which is always essential during large competitions.

Georgia has had a difficult run of injuries, but she has demonstrated tremendous resiliency, and her comeback is a major lift for the team.

"Alyssa and Jess are expected to be fully fit and firing after minor injuries as well, so we've got a full-strength squad with plenty of variety with both bat and ball if required.

"Heather and Kim both impressed when given the chance during the India series, and we know they are ready to perform their role if the opportunity presents.

"Unfortunately, there was no room for Nicola, Phoebe or Amanda-Jade, but they're still well and truly in our plans and are on standby should they be required."

Australia will begin its World Cup defence on February 12 against Trans-Tasman rivals, New Zealand, before rounding out the pool games against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
