Cricket enthusiasts in Canada can rejoice as the Global T20 Canada is set to make a highly anticipated comeback for its landmark third edition after a three-year hiatus. This thrilling cricket extravaganza will take place in Brampton, Ontario, featuring six franchises, including two new entrants, the Surrey Jaguars and the Mississauga Panthers. Alongside the newcomers, the tournament will showcase the Toronto Nationals, Brampton Wolves, Montreal Tigers, and Vancouver Knights.
Scheduled to be held from July 20 to August 6, the tournament will witness a total of 25 matches played over 18 action-packed days. The player draft, taking place today, will reveal the marquee players of international repute who will grace the competition. In the previous editions, cricketing legends such as Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, and Brendon McCullum have participated as marquee players.
Each squad will consist of 16 players hailing from Full and ICC Associate Member Nations. Among the players, six will be international stars, including two marquee players, four will be from Associate Nations, and six will be Canadian talents, ensuring a diverse and thrilling cricket spectacle.
