A top American Indigos squad member Mario Rampersaud said the event was a great way to celebrate 75 years of India's independence through the "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav," and the inaugural Global Power Cricket League (GPCL) T20 tournament has received great praise from leading cricketers and sports administrators from all over the world.

The first-ever GPCL T20 tournament was held in Delhi from October 2–9 to commemorate the momentous occasion of the nation's 75th anniversary of independence, and cricketers from the Indian diaspora gathered in the capital city to celebrate the momentous occasion. Power Sportz, the world's first Live Digital Sports channel based in India, provided unmatched coverage of the tournament, which featured several prominent figures from the English county circuit.

Rampersaud, a third-generation expat who is visiting India for the first time and who has represented Barbados in domestic cricket in the West Indies, claimed that the Global Power Cricket League (GPCL) T20 tournament had allowed several young people from the Indian diaspora to reconnect with their roots by giving them a rare opportunity to travel to India and explore the nation where their ancestors had once lived.

Rampersaud was chosen in June 2021 to compete in the Minor League Cricket competition in the United States, where players like India's Under-19 hero Unmukt Chand, among others, are already making their living.

The GPCL T20 was Kanthi D. Suresh, Managing Director of Power Sportz TVidea ,'s and realisation of his dream to give talented Indian diaspora players and overseas nationals of that nation opportunities.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has frequently referred to the 32 million-strong Indian diaspora as "Our Cultural Ambassadors." The GPCL T20 vision also included the Chalo India campaign, which the PM himself announced while speaking to the diaspora community in Germany earlier this year.

Other than Rampersaud, many players thought the GPCL T20 was a great success and are currently excitedly awaiting the announcement of Season 2.

Kanthi D. Suresh observed, "The difference between skill and stardom resides in a robust media platform," at the GPCL T20 tournament's concluding ceremony. She continued by stating her commitment to offering that platform through Power Sportz TV.

At the Yamuna Sports Complex Cricket Ground in this city, eight teams competed for the glittering trophy over the course of the week-long GPCL T20 competition: the Indian Sapphires, English Reds, Scottish Mulberries, and American Indigos in Pool A, and the Australian Golds, South African Emeralds, Sri Lankan Violets, and Irish Olives in Pool B.

The welcoming reception they received from tens of thousands of people at the sports complex left the teams, which were called after the vivid colours of the rainbow, speechless.

Power Sportz, the GPCL T20's official broadcaster, aired the thrilling action in 95 countries across the world. 21 HD cameras captured the action, displaying the players' talents, feelings, and celebrations to the spectators with the highest accuracy.

Several players in the competition claimed that the GPCL T20 had given them a taste of the World Cup format. In reality, the GPCL T20 had the feel of a major cricketing event from the moment it was conceived. The playing squad's composition, which included "Marquee" players, first-class players, and a mix of overseas club cricketers, was also well planned out.
