Karan K.C. (4-25) and Sandeep Lamichhane (4-18) shared eight wickets to help Nepal secure a thumping seven-wicket win against Oman in a Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 contest at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Oman.

Karan dismissed Oman’s top three – Jatinder Singh (11), Sufyan Mehmood (4), and Ayan Khan (7) – inside the opening nine overs after Gyanendra Malla won the toss and asked them to bat. At No. 4, Mohammad Nadeem did not last long either. Oman slipped to 37/4, and then 43/6.

Zeeshan Maqsood put on a solo effort, scoring 41 in 66 balls. Oman added 78 for their last four wickets before being bundled out for 121 in 37.1 overs. Sharad Vesawkar took the remaining two wickets for Nepal.

Coming to the chase, Kushal Bhurtel fell to Kaleemullah in the fourth over. Aasif Sheikh and Malla held the fort and added 95 for the second wicket with urgency. Nestor Dhamba took two wickets in, in the 15th and in the 17th overs, but the game was already done and dusted before that. Malla remained unbeaten on 52 off 46 balls, laced with four fours and two sixes. Nepal reached the target in just 18.2 overs.
