Pakistan finally managed to win a game in the Women's World Cup. They beat West Indies by eight wickets in a rain-affected clash, reduced to 20 overs a side. Pakistan restricted West Indies to 89/7 and chased down the target with seven balls remaining.

Nida Dar was adjudged Player of the Match for her four wickets. Dar (4-10) dismissed the in-form Deandra Dottin (27) to reduce West Indies to 34/2, and got Shemaine Campbelle in the next over. Other than Dottin, none of the batters scored more than 20.

In response, Afy Fletcher drew first blood by getting rid of Sidra Ameen. Then Muneeba Ali, who top-scored with 37, forged a 35-run stand with Bismah Maroof (20*) to take Pakistan close to the target. Omaima Sohail remained unbeaten on 22 as well, as she and Maroof saw Pakistan through.
